Sabbath Morning
Our Greeters
If you have any questions upon arrival, our church greeters will be glad to assist you at the entrance. They will warmly welcome you, provide a Sabbath service bulletin with helpful information, and gladly answer any questions you may have. Our greeters are also available to guide or accompany you to various areas of the church. Families with young children may receive Sabbath activity handouts to help engage them throughout the worship service.
For Children
Northwinds SDA Church programs, activities, and lessons from scripture for children and youth of all ages. Children’s classes are located on the lower level. Youth Classes are located adjacent to the washroom. For children in Cradle Roll, one of the parents must stay and participate with their child, while the other attends one of the adult classes.
Adult Classes
Northwinds SDA Adult classes are divided into four groups, these are located throughout the church. Teaching styles differ and you are welcome to sit in on different classes until you find one that you prefer. There is also Bible Study Class at 2-3 pm lead by Pastor Julio Davila and Pastor Gordon Miller.
The Church at Study
Begins at 9:30am with Sabbath School Program -its a time of fellowship, Bible study, and spiritual growth that takes place before the main worship service. It is designed for all ages—children, youth, and adults—to learn more about God’s Word and how it applies to daily life.
During Sabbath School, participants:
- Study the Bible and the Sabbath School lesson to deepen their understanding of God’s teachings
- Engage in discussion and prayer in a welcoming, supportive environment
- Take part in age-appropriate classes and activities for children and youth
- Experience a sense of community and fellowship with fellow believers
Sabbath School is more than a class—it’s a time to grow in faith, strengthen relationships, and prepare your heart for worship. Everyone is welcome to join, whether it’s your first time or you’ve been attending for years.
This is followed at 10:00am with Sabbath School Bible study classes. You do not have to attend, however, many members often indicate that this is what they wait for all week. During this one hour period, the class provides a time to fellowship in a small group, share prayer requests or praises, ask questions and discuss the weekly lesson.
The Church at Worship
The Divine Service begins at 11:00 AM, starting with hymns, announcements, the collection of offerings, prayer, and a special musical number. The service typically lasts about one hour and is a time for our congregation to unite in worship through singing, prayer, giving, and the sermon.
At Northwinds SDA Church, we offer both traditional worship—with classic hymns and scripture-based teaching—and a contemporary style through our Youth Service. We encourage you to bring your Bible; if you don’t have one, please let us know, and we’ll be happy to assist you.
Attendance
Our worship service has an average of 80 people in attendance.
Money
We do collect tithes and offerings. If you feel impressed to make an offering you can, however, please do not feel obligated to give.
How to Dress
Men often wear suits and ties, while others go more business casual (slacks and a button shirt). Some wear a nice pair of jeans and a dress shirt. Women generally wear a dress, blouse and skirt, or a pantsuit. However, we are more interested in you joining us than what you are wearing.
